Industrial fire and rescue companies can never have too much power when it comes to extrication incidents, that is where XRT Power Systems comes in. The XRT Combi came from a challenge made by an attendee of the 1996 FDIC show in Indianapolis. The challenge was to provide high pressure hydraulic and industrial electric power, all packaged in a compact, on-board fire rescue system. Fred Knowles, the Vice President of Hansen Marine Engineering, recognizing an opportunity and the need for this in the industry, set out to create just that. He spent two years developing the XRT Combi.
The XRT Combi supplies the reliable, smooth running hydraulic power that is needed in heavy duty extrications. In 1998 Fred Knowles received a United States Patent on his invention and XRT Power Systems was born.
Today, XRT Power Systems is a division of Hansen Marine Engineering, Inc. XRT Power Systems markets The XRT Combi, The XRT Powerhouse, The XRT Matrix System and The Onan Combi Protec worldwide. The company continues to develop solutions for the Marine and Fire Rescue Industry, while keeping a primary focus on product service and support.
